The beautifully scenic Vincents Farm is an idyllic place for horses to train, thrive & triumph.
Here at Ella Pickard Racing we only provide the best quality of care and training for every horse within our responsibility. We specialise in producing youngstock and helping them reach their full potential throughout their racing career, during our training process we feel it is paramount to include a variation of exercise to their daily routine with use of the treadmill, walker and gallops our horses also get to enjoy hacking in the beautiful Somerset countryside and get a taste for the course whether that be on the flat or over fences on our gallops.
We encourage our owners to follow their horses training with us and very much be a part of the process, we provide regular updates and open days to continuously include everyone involved in the horses’ progress.
With years of experience in the field Ella Pickard & partner Neil Harris have an abundance of knowledge on the sport and everything it entails.

What We Do
“Training racehorses with patience”
Starting from the basis of potential Ella and her team specialise in carefully selecting youngstock taking conformation, breeding and personality into consideration. Our young horses are then safely transported to us to begin their journey, we also offer the introduction to basic groundwork and light training as we provide for all horses starting out with us to owners wanting to begin their horse’s racing career.
Ours methods of training are gradual and varied ensuring that all our horses are given the best start with equine welfare at the top of our agenda.
We have a number of facilities to ensure peak fitness, mental stimulation and performance is maintained. These include a horse walker, treadmill, 20X40 sand and fibre arena & gallops. Our horses are accommodated in a fully refurbished brick built American style barn and have access to all year-round turnout in individual paddocks all within proximity of each other.
The team provide luxury comfort and care, taking every individual horses needs into consideration. We believe that whilst exercise and training is an excellent stimulation for young horses, we also feel that their natural instincts and needs must also be met to ensure their experience with us is always positive.
A testament to the dedication, teamwork and professional outlook after establishing her experience and just starting out in her racehorse training career Ella had success in Class 2, 2020 French Furze winner GETAROUND who was also 4th in the Class 2, Persian War. He won two other Novice Hurdles and was a Chepstow Bumper winner prior to his French Furze win.

Ella the Young and Upcoming Trainer
Being involved in horses her whole life Ella brings a passionate, dedicated and caring take to racehorse training. Despite not being brought up within the racing industry Ella was fortunate enough to start her ridden career through hunting but determined to progress into the area of work that interested her the most she was given the opportunity to start pony racing following on from this Ella began to establish herself in point to point.
Before becoming a NTF licenced trainer Ella worked for many highly successful trainers such as Harry Fry, Richard Barber, Jimmy Frost and Jeremy Scott. Training nine winners and riding eight herself she went onto win the prestigious Princess Royal Trophy for Best Under 21 Female Jockey.
Establishing her passion for training Ella went on to produce the Class 2, French Furze winner 2020 in GETAROUND who also went on to be consistently successful. Ella was granted her licence at Oaktrow Farm in September 2022 with her first runner STANSTHEMAN in the opening meet at Chepstow bringing home a win in the bumper and incredible prospect BULLETSHILL winning two weeks later. She also had success in a number of winners including JANESLITTLEVOICE at Oaktrow but soon outgrew it.
Going on to expand her yard, team and fulfil her dream of becoming a reputable racehorse trainer Ella and Neil purchased Vincents Farm in April 2024 when they had another two fantastic wins from BULLETSHILL. Ella strives to provide a professional and dedicated approach to racehorse training along with first-class client care to all involved in each process.
